Twitter New Home Page Design Launched

Twitter, the famous social networking site launched new version of its home page on Wednesday morning. The home page now shares few new features that include Top Tweets, See Who’s here and Twitter 101 for business.
The new version of the page has Top Tweets at the center of the page. Most recent and famous tweets are scrolled right from the home page. A view all link is also provided which links to the top tweets page on twitter.
On the left hand side, you can also see the twitter profiles of celecrities and bussiness people. A new gadget is provided with “Get Started Now” button is provided on the the right hand side of the home page. Twitter 101, a special guide for business promotion is also placed right below the gadget.
According to twitter, With the new design, we’re intentionally featuring more dynamic content on the front page, revealing a sample of who’s here, what folks are tweeting about, and the big topics that they’re discussing. The homepage now features a set of algorithmically-selected top tweets that automatically appear every few seconds. It also highlights a random sampling of suggested sources; hover over any of them to see a profile summary and their latest tweet. Trending topics now scroll across the page, allowing us to present a large set of trends using little page real estate. Hovering over some of these trends will show a description explaining why the keyword is (or has recently been) popular.

The older version of twitter page has a search box and some links of popular topics by the minute, day and week. A signup button is also provided right beside the search form. Here is how the older version of the page looks.

Design changes are always good and specially when your design is better than earlier one. I liked the new homepage design from Twitter. Do let us know your thoughts about this new design?
